WRITTEN PERSONALITY
Lacey is known as "that hyper girl who never shuts up." Even through her hard times, she puts on a happy face and is friendly to...well, people who deserve friendliness. Lacey is actually rather shy, sometimes, and at times that comes off as arrogance. The majority of the time, however, she is not shy, and she is just plain bitchy.
It is hard to make friends with Lacey. She's very choosy with them, and for most, she does the befriending. Though she may seem exclusive, she is nice to most people. "Most" being used loosely. Also, she’s a total hippie chick. Her parents pretty much rubbed off on her, being pretty much hippies themselves. Her mother was born and raised in Amsterdam, if that says anything. She’s a bit of a druggie today, even, smoking weed in excess when visiting her family overseas in the Netherlands, where it’s legal. On top of that, Lacey’s a huge animal rights activist. She’s been vegetarian since forever, her parents influencing that. They were able to convince her; her sisters, however, still eat meat. She can’t stand animal testing, and she'd cringe whenever her sisters would eat meat, annoying the hell out of them. Her brother, though was also vegetarian, having a very strong relationship with Lacey.
Also, Lacey is a really, really fast runner. Even in her personality, she never really seems to slow down or get tired. However, she is just plain terrible in sports. She hardly ever hits the volleyball, and when she does, it goes the wrong way. She stubs her toe or trips over the soccer ball. She spazzes out whenever the basketball gets near her...or, really, any ball. She's the kind of person who should hate gym class at school, but she's able to laugh at herself. When Lacey messes up, she doubles over laughing, which probably irritates her team members, but it never embarrasses her. This isn't so in music, though. So, running is a good way for her to release all that energy she has. Other sports, however, just get her teammates angry at her. Honestly, she doesn’t really care what others think, but if there’s a way to avoid annoying others, she’ll do it. Normally, she doesn’t try to be annoying purposefully.
When Lacey likes something, she's really, deeply committed. She loved English class since middle school, and she loves to read, even if some did label her as a nerd (although other than liking to read and write, she hated school, therefore not being a nerd). The same goes for relationships: she doesn't ever backstab her friends, and she's extremely loyal, and to her boyfriends too. She does get really attached, but is that really a bad thing?

WRITTEN HISTORY
Lacey was born into a middle-class family, in Los Angeles. Her mother and father were both musicians -her mother a soloist, her father a guitarist in a band- and so were her grandparents. Their music was fairly popular, but neither really made it big. When Lacey was five months old, they moved to New York. Between Joel and Jade, Lacey and her siblings had a lot of opportunities in music, but Lacey was the only one who really cared for it. Ashley just couldn't focus on it, Stacy wasn't interested, and Derek learned a little piano for awhile but never really used it. Of them all, Lacey was the only one with a real passion for music. When she was five, she was at her parent's piano, playing away -having never taken lessons- when they walked in, astonished. She was playing a song she heard on a commercial. This was how her love of music really took off: the discovery of her ability to play by ear. Starting lessons from her parents at a very young age, she learned the piano, flute, guitar, violin, cello, trombone, trumpet, drums, voice and others. But she only really focused on voice, piano, flute, guitar and drums.
Since she was tiny, she looked up to her older sister by four years, Ashley, but this was to be crushed later in her life. Her little sister Stacy was seven years younger, and therefore not worthy of Lacey's attention. Derek was only a year older than her, and the sibling closest to her. When her friends weren't available, and her parents didn't understand, he was there for her, and they were closer than an older brother might normally be with a younger sister. Through the years, they've stayed together.
Lacey was the middle daughter in her family, the misunderstood one. Between her older sister Ashley, who was popular with everyone and her younger sister Stacy, a sweetheart who never seemed to do anything wrong, she felt under pressure a lot of the time. Even though she was a little underweight for her age, she felt like she was fat all the time, pinching her hips, looking in the mirror. She dieted bit by bit without her parents even noticing, and eventually she was eating a granola bar everyday. Her weight dropped to sixty pounds when she was fourteen and she ended up in the hospital.
Life was never the same afterwards. She couldn't shake the feeling that her parents were looking down on her, her sister's scared of her. Her weight slowly climbed the scale, but she had other problems, too.
Lacey Schuyler could not seem to understand herself, of all people. Boys liked her, and she'd had boyfriends, and she didn't know what she felt for girls. Being curious, she eventually got involved with a girl.
Her name was Hayley, and they were fifteen when they secretly went out. Hayley always wanted her to come out with it, but Lacey did not want to face her family after that. Especially because she already hardly talked to her parents then. In a fit of panic, screaming, and slammed doors as Hayley begged her to talk to her parents, Lacey broke up with her.
The weeks after were terrible. She'd come face to face with Hayley in the parking lot of a 7-11, and things got violent. Lacey still being small and weak for her age, she was badly hurt...but to her family, she passed it off easily, saying she tripped. Since she was very clumsy, her they believed her. While that went on, Lacey was the only person who knew about her sister Ashley's drinking problem. Several times, she had seen her come home drunk. Two weeks after her fight with Hayley, Ashley died while trying to drive home drunk, leaving Lacey confused, alone, guilty, and angry.
Since Hayley, Lacey has not dated any other girls, and she isn't interested in it. As she healed, the band really took off. Truthfully, Lacey didn't want drums at first: she loved singing. Her chorus teacher had said it; so had her parents: Lacey had a lovely voice. But then Avalanche took vocals, and these girls were the last ones she wanted to argue with. Today, Lacey has healed, for the most part. She ended her grieving and guilt for Ashley, and among her other tattoos and piercings, "RIP Ashley Rose" is tattooed in a lacy script on her foot. She still classifies herself as bi-curious, but she's hardly curious anymore after her encounter with Hayley. All in all, Lacey did have a hard life, but it wasn't that horrible: and with her love of music, she got through it.
